Contribution Medals

  1. Distinguished Contribution

    The Distinguished Contribution medal signifies the bearer has gone above and beyond in their contribution to supporting Z Squadron. This is only given to a select few and before being granted, the medal must be convened and approved by all of J-5 Strategic Planning.

     

Long Service Good Conduct Medals

  1. Long Service Good Conduct - 2 Years

    The Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is a long service medal awarded to regular members of His Majesty's Naval Service. The medal was introduced under Queen Victoria and could be awarded to other ranks and men serving in the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines. Whilst in real life the medal is awarded after a minimum 15 years of service, Z Squadron opts to scale the times to be more suiting.

    Prerequisites:

    • 24 months as a member of the Squadron.
  2. Long Service Good Conduct - 1 Year

    The Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is a long service medal awarded to regular members of His Majesty's Naval Service. The medal was introduced under Queen Victoria and could be awarded to other ranks and men serving in the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines. Whilst in real life the medal is awarded after a minimum 15 years of service, Z Squadron opts to scale the times to be more suiting.

    Prerequisites:

    • 12 months as a member of the Squadron.
  3. Long Service Good Conduct - 6 Months

    The Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is a long service medal awarded to regular members of His Majesty's Naval Service. The medal was introduced under Queen Victoria and could be awarded to other ranks and men serving in the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines. Whilst in real life the medal is awarded after a minimum 15 years of service, Z Squadron opts to scale the times to be more suiting.

    Prerequisites:

    • 6 months as a member of the Squadron.
  4. Long Service Good Conduct - 2 Months

    The Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is a long service medal awarded to regular members of His Majesty's Naval Service. The medal was introduced under Queen Victoria and could be awarded to other ranks and men serving in the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines. Whilst in real life the medal is awarded after a minimum 15 years of service, Z Squadron opts to scale the times to be more suiting. The 2 month medal signifies the bearer has passed their probation and is no longer susceptible to RTU.

    Prerequisites:

    • 2 months as a member of the Squadron

Operational Service Medals

  1. Operational Service Medal - OP NARCO

    OP NARCO is the Foreign Office effort to reduce the amount of illegal narcotics being imported into the United Kingdom that originate from the American continents. In Summer of 2023, Z Squadron deployed to Colombia & Mexico to support their respective militaries and police in countering narco activity. 

    Prerequisites:

    • 75% attendance across OP NARCO I or OP NARCO II
  2. Operational Service Medal - OP VINDICO

    OP VINDICO is the UKSF effort to counter the rise of insurgency in the Yemeni Civil War. In Spring 2023, Z Squadron went on tour to Yemen and targeted the radical, Al Qaeda affiliated, Siddiqi Cell. Z Squadron inserted into the Jayshan District of Yemen through a Hasty Landing Zone in an Atlas A400M. Once Z Squadron established an area to operate out of, they then worked to strike high priority targets and capture or kill the upper echelons of the Siddiqi Cell.

    Prerequisites:

    • 75% attendance across OP VINDICO
  3. Operational Service Medal - OP HEMERA

    OP HEMERA was the United Kingdom's Mission to support the Republic of Altis from DEC 2021-DEC 2022. Z Squadron deployed with support from the Royal Marines and the Parachute Regiment. Whilst the marines and paratroopers focused on supporting the Altian government through training, Z Squadron targeted the upper echeclons of the Altian Liberation Army's Command. On Z Squadron's first tour in Altis, the Western Command of the Altis Liberation Army was shattered and split into factionalism and conflict. Z Squadron's second tour saw the Eastern Command be targeted through Deliberate Detention Operations as well as surgical targeting of Altis Liberation Army military areas. The second tour saw an end to the conflict with a ceasefire that has lasted over a year.

About Us

Z Squadron is a well established realism unit with strong roots in the ArmA community dating back to 14th June 2019. Z Squadron emulates the Sabre Squadron of the same name in the United Kingdom's elite Special Boat Service. We are a United Kingdom based unit but accepts people from all over the world providing they can meet the attendance requirements of the unit and speak English fluently. Z Squadron holds its events every Wednesday and Sunday at 19:30 GMT/BST.

Z Squadron prides itself on being the peak of realism in the UKSF Milsim community. We prioritise maintaining a balance of fun and realism in both training and operations for all of our playerbase.

What To Expect?

The Special Boat Service (SBS) is one of the world's most renowned maritime special forces units, with a long history of tradition. Z Squadron is tasked with many different roles such as;

  • Offensive Actions
  • Maritime Counter-Terrorism
  • Surveillance and Reconnaissance

Applicants to Z Squadron will undergo a Joint Assessment and Selection, upon completion of the selection they will be assigned a patrol and moved onto further training modules to progress their career in the unit.
